My Trip to Redmond - 2

Hi all,

I am back. Sorry I was not able to update my blog as I was a bit busy with my work. Well, where did I stop? Yeh, by 5:30 PM it was all done. I had to catch my parents. They had completed a part of my shopping. Only left for me to buy was shoes. So, they came down to my place in madhapur by car. I shifted my luggage to the Guest House. Also purchased my shoes. Hey u guys who were there in Hyderabad, a new mall is coming up in the Banjara road. Its a real huge one with McDonalds in it too. Its a real beautiful one too. I was surprised to see that. I guess, it was since a long time I had moved out to discover such malls in hyderabad.. Guys i miss u yaar... Few shops have only opened in that mall. Well, I bought my shoes from there. Then we moved to Guest House to pack my luggage. I hadn't slept since the past 3 days because of loads of work and also running around purchasing things. I was real dead tired, so asked my mom to continue the packing. Finally, after having dinner I helped my parents in the packing. Finally the packing was done, completed around 10:00 PM. This had been the longest day in my life, i guess...

As I was boarding for an international flight, I had to check in for customs by 12:30 AM, saturday. I was feeling damn sleepy but managed to complete the formalities. I checked in the luggage (2 big bags), went for the customs check and finally checked in. A funny thing happened. When I showed my ticket in the counter, I removed it from the envelope and showed it along with the passport. The officer provided me the boarding pass. Then I thought of putting back the pass and the ticket into the enevelope. But the envelope was missing. I was shocked, thought that at the start of the journey I have misplaced this, what will happen during the rest of the journey; missing my luggage was the dreadiest thought that came into my mind that time. I managed to kill that thought and boarded the AI plane Hyderabad to Mumbai at 4:30 AM saturday.

As I boarded the plane, I went to my seat and was preparing to sleep. Beside me there was a gentleman who was snoring. May be he was thinking that he was sleeping at home. That screwed up my sleep. Again, Air India madam (Air Hostess) offered the breakfast. I had that and tried to sleep,but it was no use. It was nearly 5:35 AM by then and we were approaching Mumbai.

I deplaned and then again checked in that was for transit passengers boarding for Chicago. I checked in after showing the officer my ticket and he gave me boarding pass. I placed my ticket in my shirt pocket as I feared to loose this. After the check in was done I called up Amit for killing my time. That hero was sleeping. He disconnected the phone once or twice and then finally he called up. We had a chat for half an hour or so. After the chat, I decided to take some rest and slept for a while. In the check in, I met one of my TCS ILP friend who was going to Atlanta. He was also going in the same flight to Chicago and from there to Atlanta.

Then, we boarded the plane for Chicago. I can tell you guys,never go in AI... no good air hostess.. :-( ... We got our seats side by side.. had a long discussion about the guys what were doing and in which projects they were in. By that time, breakfast arrived. Had it again... I couldn't control my sleep and finally slept peacefully. I woke after an hour or so, saw that the air hostess was serving snacks again along with drinks. We were not sure whether the drinks were free or had to be paid. So we satisfied ourselves with coke and potato chips. Then we watched movie on the big screen... phir hera pheri.. I was remembering the guys who reccommended to see that movie..grrrrrrrrr....u guys!!!!!! I fell asleep again...got up again to see that we are being served lunch.. Had a great lunch.. listened to music. Then again went abck to sleep. Next time when I woke up, I saw snacks being served along with drinks. Had a beer along with chips.. that was good..had beer after a long time :-)) .... By that time we reached Frankfurt. Its really beatuful place yaar.. I could feel that by seeing from the plane's window. It was the first time I felt Europe's cold as we deplaned for an hour or two. It was about 6 deg and it was afternoon 1:30 and no sun was seen.

After the re-fuelling was done we boarded the plane, and it was around 7-8 hours trip to Chicago. Well, again during that time had a lunch again. Finally reached Chicago at 4:30 PM PST.... Welcome to the US of America. I completed my formalities at immigration and went to collect my luggage. Well,well,well.... I had to wait for 2 hours to get my luggage. Finally, got my luggage and went for the customs check. Finally, I went to the American Airlines (AA) counter to checkin. My friend also moved to another counter for his flight to Atlanta. When I showed
my ticket to the officer in counter, he said that there was no ticket. I was really shocked. I was luckily having the reciept of the ticket. I showed that to him, but still he was not covinced. He said, I needed to buy a ticket. I thought, its all lost.. Then I decided to meet an AI officer. The officer was a she....good looking... I went to her, told her my problem,gave her the reciept.. She asked me to wait for sometime... Forgot to tell you guys one more thing.... besides the AI counter, there was Jordan International flight counter. There was an officer....She was a real beauty.. I had never seen such a beauty before...believe me... such a flawless face, beautiful eyes...everything seemed perfect,her smile too was awsome.... I swear..... Coming to my problem, finally I got a paper from the AI officer stating that the ticket was mispulled in Mumbai airport. I was really relieved to see that. I thanked her and moved to the AA counter and finally got the boarding pass for that flight. to Seattle. I dumped my luggage there and had to catch the flight from other airport. Boy.... that was tough too.... finding a way to other airport...

My trip to Redmond

Hi,

Well, how should I start with my trip to redmond, USA? It was as expected, my Company Visa cell did not take any inputs about my travel date to US. These people booked my tickets for Staurday Early morning flight from Hyderbad to Bombay. Then from Bombay to Chicago via Frankfurt in apna Air India. From Chicago I had to catch American Airlines for Seattle. As I was informed very late about my travel, I called up my mom and dad to come by and help me in my packing. Luckily, one of my collegeues, Gaurab, who is in bench helped me with my initial shopping.

Mom and dad arrived friday morning. I went to pick them up. Then dropped them in HAL guest house. Came back o my place. I was not sure about my stay. So all these tensions along with my shopping list made me dizzy. I was not sure if I would be able to make it. But mom and dad helped a lot in this matter. They went for my purchasing and I had to finish my office work.

As I reached office after picking up my parents, it was already 11 am. I hadnt seen my flight itiniery. I thought the flight timings for hyderabad mumbai would be 10 pm.. so was a bit tensed as I had less time. Then when my PL sent me the itiniery mail regarding my flight i was a bit happy to see that it was 4:30 AM saturday morning...

So I finished my work in the client side and then decied to go to the main office for collecting the tickets and FOREX etc. As always, my company has been referred as the government organisation. This is true when it comes to when you are leaving for US the next morning. They make you run from pillar to post. I entered office at around 1:30 pm and finally left office with everything done by 5:30 PM.
